With the support of Kylie, Ash, Kristofferson and an array of other animals, they dig out paths to the farms and hoard supplies, enough to feed the entire population.

Yet, on one of these supposed to be successful missions, Kristofferson gets taken away by the farmers. From this moment on, everything changes for Ash. With this new sense of purpose, Ash steps up and singlehandedly leads the operation to save his cousin. His actions gain him a reputation for being courageous and strategic. He finally gets the approval he has long desired, not just from his father, but from his entire community. This is his moment of glory and a moment that will shape his future.

In the last chapter, Mr. Fox haggles with the farmers and has come to a conclusion of sorts. While the farmers stay above ground, waiting for Mr. Fox and the animals to come up, they are adapting to their new life of no above ground. They dig out the base of the community, turning it into a underground system full of houses and open areas to be shared. Although their entire community is built to be underground, it does not lack the essence of support and friendship.

The tale concludes with optimistic sentiments. Mr. Fox as he stands with family and friends in an Underground storeroom of a supermarket begins with a passionate narrative.
