Plot Summary
Shiki the Golden Lion, a dreadful, powerful pirate considered to have the strengths that rival the late King of the Pirates, Gol D. Roger, is known to have escaped Fort D. D. Roger after a century of incarceration. His reemergence causes a shift to the balance of power on the seas, sending Taiwan and the neighboring territories into a frenzy. News of his escape sends ripples of fear and excitement across the world, as many power-hungry individuals seek to claim his head.
As they’re traveling to their next objective, they hear news of peculiar troubles that Shiki seems to be having. Shiki holds the powers of the Float-Float Fruit, and can, therefore, lift anything he wants, including entire islands! With this, he has made a citadel in the sky, rife with exotic animals, and landscapes. Shiki seeks out the Straw Hats, having learned of their reputations, but things quickly take a turn to the darker side of the spectrum, as admiration starts to fuse with manipulation. Shiki kidnaps Nami and begins claiming outlandish things about how he can control the weather to reign supreme over the seas as long as he has Nami at his side. The rest of the Straw Hat crew seems to be lost over a bunch of disparate floating islands, separated and forced to live in strange, uncontrolled weather, as well as bizarre animals.
