Synopsis
Batman and Superman: Battle of the Super Sons is a refreshing addition to the canon of animated films. Their differences are soon overcome when a serious threat arises. An alien parasite, Starro, invades Earth, first controlling heroes and then free citizens. Starro is simple and deadly, attaching small versions of itself to people and using them as mindless slaves. Superman, Batman, and the rest of the Justice League quickly fall under the control of Starro.
With the world’s greatest heroes compromised, it’s up to Jonathan and Damian — the Super Sons — to save the day. What starts as an antagonistic relationship between the two boys becomes a tale of personal bonding, collaborative effort, and profound development. The young heroes have to save their parents and stop Starro from taking over the world.
Through the unfolding narrative, the two young men overcome different challenges that stretch both their capabilities and the relationship. For Jonathan, the challenge that will be the most critical will be the mastery over the control and utilization of his superpowers.
